Shaw revenues rise 1%, net income declines in Q3

Shaw Communications' third-quarter revenue rose 1 percent year-over-year to CAD 1.34 billion. Operating income before restructuring costs and amortisation was CAD 601 million for the three months to May, up 3 percent, and free cash flow rose to CAD 240 million from CAD 138 million a year ago. Net income at the Canadian cable operator declined to CAD 228 million or CAD 0.47 per share, from CAD 250 million or CAD 0.52 per share. Revenue in the Cable division rose 2 percent to CAD 845 million, and operating income was up 5 percent to CAD 417 million. Satellite revenue rose to CAD 220 million
