Shazam opens sales office in France

UK music recognition technology company Shazam has appointed its first sales director for France, Julie Leplus, who formerly worked at Omnicom and M6, Les Echos reports. This is Shazam's first international market and its app has been popular in France since the first iPhone was launched, said managing director Rich Riley. France is the second biggest market for Shazam, after the US, with 8.5 million active users a month, out of 100 million worldwide. The app has been downloaded about 36 million times, out of around 600 million worldwide. Shazam offers a very thick back catalogue of French
