Tuesday 23 August 2016 | 08:48 CET | News
Simpati Mobile has become the eighth MVNO to launch in Mexico on Telefonica's Movistar network, reports business daily El Economista. The new operator's stated aim is to "democratise" mobile phone services for Mexican women, said CEO Raul Santamaria, and Simpati's offer will include LTE services on a prepay basis and a rewards programme. Telefonica currently has MVNO deals with Virgin Mobile, Maz Tiempo, Cierto, Weex, Qbocel, Megacable and Maxcom with the operator hoping to add another three operators to its network this year.
