Simple Pay unveils mobile phone bill payment system

Nigeria's Simple Pay has introduced a system that allows individuals and corporate bodies to pay bills using their mobile phones. CEO Simeon Ononobi said the new multi-purpose online payment service will conveniently help people and companies to carry out transactions. He said users will be able to pay utility bills, school fees, bank transfers and air fares, among other things, directly from their mobile phones. Ononobi added that for every transaction carried out through Simple Pay, users will be charged 1 percent of the size of the bill.
