Simyo unveils unlocked smartphone portfolio

Spanish MVNO Simyo has started selling unlocked mobile phones, which can be purchased via monthly instalments and used on any mobile operator network. The operator, which was acquired by Orange Spain at the end of 2012, has inaugurated its unlocked smartphone portfolio with the Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini, which it is offering for an upfront payment of EUR 29 and 20 monthly payments of EUR 5. A total of EUR 129 (including VAT) and no tie-in period, leaving customers free to change operator if they wish.
