Singtel, Ericsson to launch NB-IoT technology trial in H2

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) and Ericsson will launch a trial of Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology in the second half of this year. NB-IoT will enable Singtel to support new IoT use cases in areas such as smart cities, utilities and the environment. Singtel reports its 4G LTE network already supports low-cost Category 1 (Cat-1) devices, which are built for IoT applications.
