Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) saw its first-quarter net profit drop 17.4 percent to SGD 835 million. In constant currency terms, net profit would have decreased 12 percent. The Singapore consumer business and regional mobile associates, namely Airtel and Globe, contributed strong growth, the company said. At 30 June 2014, the combined mobile customer base (the total number of mobile customers in SingTel, Optus and the regional mobile associates) grew by 10 percent to 525 million.
