Six banks to launch m-payment system in Poland by December

Six Polish banks have joined efforts to develop a payment system using mobile phones. The service aims to compete with credit cards, and is being rolled out by Bank Millennium, PKO BP, Alior Bank, Banco Santander's Bank Zachodni WBK, Commerzbank's BRE Bank and ING Group's ING Bank Slaski. These banks combined have 16 million clients, or 70 percent of the Polish market, Rueters reports.
