Six new HD DTT channels go live in France

Six new HD DTT channels are launching in France on 12 December with limited access over terrestrial initially, but with most channels available nationally for cable, ADSL and satellite TV customers from day one. The new channels are HD1, L'Equipe 21, 6ter, Numero 23, RMC Decouverte and Cherie 25. Broadcast regulator CSA announced that terrestrial access will be possible initially in the Ile-de-France region as well as in Bordeaux, Marseille, Auxerre, Troyes, Sens, Bayonne and Lesparre. The move expands France's HD DTT line-up to eleven channels.
