Six Ugandan SIM box fraud suspects appear in court

Six SIM boxing suspects arrested in Uganda have been charged with electronic fraud at Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court. Three of the accused, Kagulire Ibrahim, Mutyaba Edward and Kavuma Ben, pleaded guilty, but Musaazi Denis, Bingi Maxie, Lubega Ezra denied the charges. The suspects face several charges, including operating a GSMA gateway machine (SIM box) without a licence from the Uganda Communications Commission, contrary to section 22 and 85 of the Uganda Communications Act 2013.
