South Korea's chip maker SK Hynix plans to spend USD 107 billion building four factories as it seeks to maintain its market position in the face of rising competition from Chinese companies, writes online publication CNBC.com. The chip fabrication facilities will be built on a 4.5 million square meter site south of Seoul as of 2022. The new plants will complement two existing domestic factories that will receive a separate KWN 55 trillion (USD 49 billion) investment over the next decade.
