SKS files Apple m-payments complaint with Weko

Wednesday 6 July 2016 | 19:31 CET | News
Swiss consumer protection organisation SKS has filed a complaint against Apple with the Swiss Competition Commission (Weko). SKS is accusing Apple of abusing a dominant market position in the mobile payments market by refusing to open the iPhone to other payment systems. The SKS says it is engaging in anti-competitive behaviour by forcing iPhone users to only use the Apple Pay system, which uses NFC technology, and not support other payment systems such as Twint.
