Sky adopts Cisco, MaxLinear tech for Sky Q STBs

Sky's new Q set-top box that will be available from early 2016 will incorporate technology from Cisco and MaxLinear, namely Cisco video software products and Maxlinear's MxL5x2 Full-Spectrum Capture satellite front-end receiver and EN5520 digital channel stacking IC for multi-dwelling units (MDUs). Sky Q is Sky's home entertainment service, which will open up a whole new way of watching TV. Sky Q is a family of advanced products, connecting wirelessly to create a new ecosystem.
