Sky Deutschland to phase out Nagravision by end-2015

Friday 15 August 2014 | 12:45 CET | News
Within the next few months, Sky Deutschland will stop using Nagravision encoding, said the website Digital Fernsehen. Instead, it will only use the more up-to-date NDS system from Cisco. Customers who still have a Nagravision receiver for satellite or cable television will be lent a Sky HD receiver, which supports NDS, free of charge, said Stefan Kunz, vice president of business and distribution at the German provider. If they prefer, they can opt for Sky's CI-Plus module. Kunz said Sky expects to complete the migration by the end of 2015.
