Sky downloads, streaming up 50% in UK, Ireland in 2014

Satellite TV operator Sky said its customers in the UK and Ireland made a record nearly 2 billion download and streaming requests in 2014, a rate of 60 requests per second. This represents almost 50 percent growth on 2013, reflecting the continued trend of consumers watching TV when it suits them. There are now 6.5 million Sky On Demand customers and 5.8 million registered users for the Sky Go mobile TV service in the UK and Ireland.
