Sky Germany to drop Formula 1 races from programming

Sky said that the "drastic increase" in prices for sports licensing rights meant that the company would focus on obtaining broadcasting rights with the highest possible degree of exclusivity going forward, added TelTarif. Sky will continue to air Formula 1 races in other European markets like Italy and the UK, however. The broadcaster likewise said that German customers would have no special rights of cancellation as a result of this development given that the "complete nature" of Sky's sports package has not changed.
