Sky Italia revenues down 3%, adds 12,000 customers

Italian pay-TV provider Sky Italia, acquired by the Sky group from 21st Century Fox in November 2014, reported revenues down 3 percent to GBP 953 million in its fiscal first half to the end of December, compared to GBP 978 million in the year-earlier period. The drop was attributed to a slight annual fall in customer numbers, the discontinuation of programme sales to Mediaset Premium and the absence of advertising revenues from the 2014 FIFA World Cup on what remains a highly sports-focused platform. Operating profit fell by GBP 6 million to GBP 25 million and subscription revenue was down 4
