Sky may enter 4K UHD market this year, the BBC not - report

As Netflix and Amazon increase their output of 4K UHD programming and YouTube continues to position itself as a broadcast platform, which should make more UHD content available, Sky may also enter the market, writes Digital Spy. The Sunday Telegraph wrote in April 2014 that Sky was working on a new STB featuring UHD support and offering cloud storage capabilities. The BBC tested UHD during the World Cup in summer 2014, but is unlikely to start using the technology before 2018-2020, according to Digital Spy, which also cites as an interesting development work by Philips and US broadcasters to
