Sky outbids BT for Football League TV rights - report

Thursday 10 August 2017 | 11:08 CET | News
Sky is set to retain the TV rights to the English Football League in a deal worth up to GBP 180 million a season, reports The Guardian. Sky is understood to have outbid pay-TV rival BT and entered into exclusive talks with the Football League for the live rights, in a 3-5 year deal worth GBP 500 million-GBP 900 million. Sky has two years left on its existing contract with the Football League, with the League deciding not to take up an automatic 12-month extension.
