Sky sees H1 revenues increase 8% in Germany and Austria

Thursday 25 January 2018 | 16:01 CET | News
Sky posted revenues of GBP 1.015 billion in Germany and Austria for the last six months of 2017, a increase of 8 percent from the same period in 2016. The company's EBITDA for its fiscal first half was GBP 34 million, down 15 percent. The company attributed the decrease in EBITDA to the costs it absorbed as part of its GBP 72 million contract with the German Bundesliga. Advertising revenues in the region increased 25 percent thanks to increased viewing, growth in its client direct business and the upwards re-pricing of sports inventory.
