Sky to show 80 original series this year, boost US content by 40%

Sky has announced ambitious content goals for this year, with 80 original series set to come out, alongside the commission of 10 new Sky original programmes. In addition, the company will give a 40 percent boost to US content, and continue to show content from partners Netflix, BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5. The news was unveiled at Sky's Up Next showcase event at the Tate Modern on 12 February, where the broadcaster shared previews of the shows to air, with the participation of David Schwimmer, Nick Mohammed, Maisie Williams, Billie Piper, Dynamo, Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan.
