Sky UK & Ireland profit slides 20% in 9-mths

Sky said revenues in the UK & Ireland lifted 4 percent from the year before at constant currency to GBP 6.410 billion, despite the more challenging environment facing most consumer businesses during the first calendar quarter. The operating profit however sank 20 percent to GBP 918 million, while EBITDA amounted to GBP 1.245 billion. Sky added 338,000 customers in the past year, including 40,000 in the quarter alone, for a total of 12.691 million in the UK and Ireland. Churn was stable on a sequential basis.
