Sky UK, Ireland expands children's VoD

Sky UK and Ireland has announced plans to expand its children's content on VoD to around 4,000 programmes within a few months, up  on 700 shows at present. The satellite TV operator signed agreements with various rights holders, including Viacom and Turner, and shows such as Ben 10, Dora the Explorer, Horrible Histories, Octonauts and SpongeBob Squarepants. The 600 percent increase in children's programming is accompanied by a new dedicated kids section on the Sky+ homepage, through an automatic software update starting this week on Sky+HD boxes.
