Sky welcomes govt broadband USO commitment

Monday 9 November 2015 | 17:28 CET | News
Sky has welcomed the UK Government's initiative to make it a right for people to demand a broadband connection of at least 10 Mbps by end of this Parliament. Sky's chief strategy officer, Mai Fyfield, said that this fitted with Sky's belief that the UK needs to be more ambitious in its digital infrastructure. However, she expressed alarm that the Government could offer an even larger role to BT, and reiterated calls for an independent Openreach, freed from BT's control.
