Slovak Telekom plans merger with T-Mobile - report

Slovak fixed connection provider Slovak Telekom and its subsidiary T-Mobile Slovakia are planning to merge in the near future, according to Hospodarske Noviny, a business daily newspaper. Unnamed sources at Slovak Telekom said that the process of integrating the fixed and mobile activities has already started. The move is part of a broader strategy at parent company Deutsche Telekom to acheive more synergies and cost savings from integrating fixed and mobile subsidiaries, a process already started in other countries in the group.
