Wednesday 9 January 2019 | 14:16 CET | News
The number of devices in US homes that are compatible with smart assistants is expected to reach 1.6 billion in 2022, up five-fold over from 2018, according to the latest study from Canalys. Almost half (49%) of of all devices in use at home will cater to home automation and lighting, with home security second at 18 percent and audio and video entertainment making up 13 percent. Growth will be driven by the introduction of cheaper devices while device sensors will lead to more use cases.
