Smart Tanzania launches LTE services

Tanzania's newest ISP Smart has launched LTE services in Dar es Salaam. Customers can access high-speed data though mobile phones and mobile Wi-Fi devices from Huawei and ZTE. Group CEO Abdellatif Bouziani said quality of service and affordability of products are key to Smart's offer for Tanzanian customers. Formally known as Benson Informatics, Smart is now majority owned by the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development. The TDD LTE service operates on the 2.6 GHz band in Tanzania, and services start at TZS 5,900 for 500 MB. Smart said it plans to expand the network to other parts of the
