Smart Telecom to launch IPTV service in April
Ireland's Smart Telecom will soft-launch its IPTV service in April, the company told siliconrepublic.com. The DSL-based multi-channel service will be launched in areas close to the 37 unbundled exchanges where Smart Telecom currently provides broadband services. Chief operating officer (COO) Pio Murtagh told Siliconrepublic that final testing was underway, with Smart looking to launch the IPTV in April with existing customers. The soft-launch will involve selected customers nearest to the exchanges.
