Smart to launch Apple iPhone 4S on 16 December

Apple has ended Globe Telecom's exclusive right to sell iPhones in the Philippines. Rival Smart Telecom, the mobile unit of Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) will start selling the iPhone 4S on 16 December, the Manila Times reports citing PLDT chairman Manuel Pangilinan. PLDT's newly acquired operator Sun Cellular will also offer the iPhone 4S. Both Smart and Globe have begun pre-registration for the new iPhone.
