Smartphones make up half of Kenya mobile phone sales

Over half of the mobile devices sold in Kenya is a smartphone, indicating that the country's mobile phone industry is moving further away from feature phones and more towards feature-packed smart devices, according to a new study by e-commerce company Jumia, reported in The Standard. Of the 3.1 million devices sold in Kenya this year, 1.8 million were smartphones, representing 58 percent of the units sold.
