Smartphones used by 85% of Spanish households to connect to internet

Smartphones remain by far the most popular means to connect to the internet in Spain, with 85.2 percent of broadband homes using their mobile phone to get online, according to the Q2 2017 consumer household survey conducted by communications regulator CNMC. Smartphones are now well ahead of laptops (52.8%), desktop PCs (40.0%) and tablets (36.9%). Some 11.6 percent of users now access the internet from their TV sets, up 4 percentage points over the past two years, while 6.2 percent connect via their video game consoles.
