Smartwatches made up 54% of total US watch sales in 2018

Smartwatches made up 54 percent of total watch US sales last year, according to the latest report from The NPD Group. The total watch market grew 13 percent in the year to USD 8.8 billion. In dollar sales, smartwatches accounted for 44 percent. For the fourth quarter, they outsold traditional watches, making up 55 percent of total watch sales. NPD concluded that smart options have become as significant as traditional watches.
