Smile Nigeria urges government to foster mutual redundancy to mitigate any future submarine cable cuts

Smile Communications CEO Ahmad Farroukh has appealed to the government to create an environment where all Nigerian cable providers will have active redundancy from each other in case of cable cuts, so that consumers will not be affected in the case of similar occurrence in the future. This follows the recent cut to the West African Cable System (WACS) and SAT3 cables, which resulted in the disruption of internet services in Nigeria.
