Smile Uganda absorbs the 12% tax on internet data

Smile Communications Uganda said it will not be increasing data bundle fees following the removal of the Over-The-Top (OTT) tax and introduction of the new 12 percent Excise Duty on internet data from July, Techjaja reported. The company said it took this decision to help customers make it through the covid-19 pandemic and accompanying lockdowns.
