Snap buys location analytics platform Placed

Snap has bought Placed, a startup based in Seattle with a consumer location analytics platform, GeekWire reported. The company will continue to operate independently at its headquarters in Seattle, and offices in New York and Los Angeles. Sources put the deal at over USD 200 million. CEO and co-founder David Shim will stay at the company, and will report to Snap chief strategy officer Imran Khan.
