Softbank leads in July net adds

Japanese mobile operator Softbank led in net subscriber adds in July, gaining 254,500 new customers to bring its total to 33.54 million. KDDI followed with 225,200 new customers, ending the month with 38.60 million subscribers in total. NTT Docomo attracted 172,500 new customers in July, bringing its subscriber base to 61.80 million, figures from the Telecommunications Carrier Association (TCA) show. Meanwhile PHS services provider Willcom gained 37,600 new customers, bringing its base to 5.24 million subscribers, and Wimax services provider UQ Communications ended July with 4.26 million
