SoftBank taps ZTE, Huawei for 5G project in Japan - report

Japanese operator SoftBank has selected equipment from ZTE and Huawei for its commercial roll-out of Massive Mimo technology on the local market, South China Morning Post reports, citing unnamed industry sources. On 16 September, SoftBank and affiliate Wireless City Planning started their 5G project that will see Massive Mimo deployed as part of plans for a full 5G mobile services launch in 2020.
