SoftBank to eliminate mobile phone cancellation fees by January 2022

Japanese operator SoftBank has announced plans to stop charging extra fees to users who cancel their subscription contracts before expiration. The measure will come into force at the end of January 2022, Jiji Press reports. Market competitor NTT Docomo has also abolished such cancellation fees this month, while KDDI plans to do the same by March 2022.
