Somali regulator NCA announces consultation

Somalia's telecommunication industry regulator has begun a consultation process concerning regulation of the ICT sector. Abdi Sheikh Ahmed, general manager of the National Communications Authority (NCA), said the watchdog will formally go through a consultation process every time it wants to introduce regulations. Ahmed said the NCA will give priority to rules for numbering, interconnection, public notices, spectrum and service provider, frequency allocation, and type approval guidelines.
