Some 30% of French electrical, electronic waste is recycled

Every person in France produces around 14 kg a year of electrical and electronic waste as a consumer plus 10 kg a year in the workplace, according to Greenif.fr, which claims that only 30 percent of the total is recycled. By unit, "Seven in ten computers, phones, monitors and TVs wind up, who knows where… without being recycled". Le Monde reports that around 50 million tonnes of electrical and electronic waste was produced worldwide in 2012, or around 7 kg per person, and that the volume is forecast to reach 65.4 million by 2017.
