Some 38% of French deactivate mobile data abroad - survey

Some 38 percent of French mobile phone users deactivate data on their mobile phone and 29 percent turn their handset off when they travel in Europe or in French overseas territories, according to an April survey of a representative panel of 16-75 year-olds by Ipsos for MVNO Prixtel. The survey found that 51 percent of 16-34 year-olds and 31 percent of 35-75 year-olds deactivate data, and that 23 percent of those aged 16 to 34 and 32 percent of those aged 35 to 75 switch their phone off. The usages kept by French citizens travelling in Europe and overseas territories are calls (55%), SMS
