Sonatel posts 1% EBITDA growth, lower free cash flow in H1

Sonatel generated first-half revenues of XOF 542 billion, up 7.2 percent year-on-year, as all its subsidiaries reported mobile customer growth in the year to June. The group said that its EBITDA progressed by 1.2 percent to reach XOF 236 billion, noting that the rate would improve to 3.8 percent when excluding two large non-operational items. Free cash flow fell by 18.5 percent to XOF 138 billion, impacted by significantly higher capex (+52.6% to XOF 98.3 billion).
