Sonatel's underlying EBITDA up 3.2% in 2017

Wednesday 21 February 2018 | 12:51 CET | News
Sonatel posted full year revenues of XOF 972.9 billion for 2017, representing a year-on-year growth of 7.5 percent on a reported basis and 5.3 percent when excluding the integration on the group's subsidiary in Sierra Leone (acquired in July 2016). Despite unfavourable exchange rates, the company's underlying EBITDA returned to positive growth, increasing by 3.2 percent after a fall of 1.7 percent in 2016. Net income decreased by 6.3 percent to XOF 202.2 billion, hurt by currency movements and higher amortization and depreciation costs.
