Sony combines anime streaming businesses under one umbrella company

Sony Pictures Television and Aniplex, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment in Japan, has announced the creation of a new joint venture combining three Sony-owned streaming businesses dedicated to anime-style entertainment. The integration will bring together US-based Funimation, Australia's Madman Anime Group and France's Wakanim, helping them to expand their respective reach and distribution capacity. Funimation's general manager, Colin Decker, has been appointed to the helm of the new venture.
