Sony gaining smartphone share in Europe, Apple still growing in US - Kantar

Sony is making a comeback in the European smartphone market, thanks to a renewed focus on the mid-range segment, according to the latest data from Kantar Worldpanel Comtech. In the three months to July, the company's share of smartphone sales in the top five European markets rose to 4.8 percent from 3.4 percent a year earlier, helped by strong sales in the UK and Germany and models like the Xperia XA, the market researcher said.
