Sound Digital wins national DAB multiplex licence

UK communications authority Ofcom has awarded the second national digital radio multiplex licence to Sound Digital, a joint venture between Arqiva, Bauer and UTV Media GB. Sound Digital, which was in competition with Listen2Digital, plans to launch fifteen new DAB channels in March 2016. They will include Virgin Radio for rock and pop music, TalkRadio, TalkSport 2, TalkBusiness, Asian station Sunrise Radio, Christian music station UCB Inspirational, Premier Christian Radio, Jazz FM, British Muslim Radio, Absolute 80s, Magic Mellow, Planet Rock, Heat Radio and Kisstory for 'old skool' dance
