South Africa, Nigeria consumers want better mobile marketing

A survey conducted in South Africa and Nigeria on consumers' perceptions of mobile marketing found that 80 percent of respondents feel annoyed by unsolicited messages. However, the poll by Ifop for Gemalto found that the same proportion could be won back by operators and brands if they implemented best practices. It said 83 percent of respondents consider that mobile marketing should be permission-based and 90 percent want to be able easily to identify the sender.
