South African govt spectrum policy undergoes final processes before publication

The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies has again delayed its policy direction on licensing unassigned, high-demand radio frequency spectrum, reports BusinessTech. Communications Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams had promised that an announcement would be made before 19 July, but the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) said on that date that it was still not ready for publication. The policy direction has been finalised and is going through the requisite processes prior to publication, it said.
