South African IT market to grow to ZAR 149 billion by 2021

The South African IT market grew by 5.3 percent in 2017 to ZAR 111 billion, driven mainly digital transformation, IT security and automation, according to research and advisory firm BMIT. It said the IT market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.2 percent to ZAR 149.4 billion in 2021, BusinessTech reported. The hardware market is under pressure amid declines in PC units and storage, but the networking category continues to perform relatively well.
