South Atlantic Inter Link consortium completes installation of subsea cable

Wednesday 5 September 2018 | 11:09 CET | News
The South Atlantic Inter Link (SAIL) consortium has announced the completion of the close to 6000 km marine installation of its 25-year life-span transatlantic fibre optic subsea cable. The SAIL cable system will use 100G transmission equipment to deliver a design capacity of 32 Tbps, through a four fibre pair configuration. It is a joint investment by China Unicom with its wholly owned subsidiary, China Unicom do Brasil Telecomunicacoes, and Camtel.
